Today's story is about our affiliate partner, Jason Beaumont. Jason recently won 2nd place in our network's most recent affiliate contest, Avangate Avengers. By promoting Mondly products, he proved to be our Hulk.
Owner of webwhitenoise.com blog, Jason told us in this interview how his journey as an affiliate proved to be so far and what he is focusing on from now on.
1. How long have you been working in the affiliate marketing industry and what's your main role at the moment?
I originally started out just seeing if I could add affiliate marketing as a revenue stream to my blog. It didn't really get anywhere at first, but over covid I took it more seriously to see what I could sell with more direct action with people not just passively.
2. What's your biggest affiliate marketing challenge right now, and why?
I am struggling to find the right customers who are looking for the same products that I know and I love using myself.
3. How has the pandemic affected your business?
Yes, it was a stressful time as there was a risk of not having a day to day job, so I needed to make sure I had other options available for generating income.
4. Name the most successful affiliate project you've worked on. What do you think made it successful?
Mondly's affiliate program works really well for me as I was able to find people looking to learn other languages only in a public space, others also signed up as well. The product is very easy to use making it appealing to those looking to develop their personal skills.
5. Can you tell us three digital marketing trends every company should look at and prepare for in the next two years?
- You should be aware that social media isn't everything.
- Building your offline contacts will help you work with small businesses.
- Last but not least, if you know your friends are after a tool don't be afraid to sell them something that works from your affiliate products, they have needs for their 9 to 5 as well.
6. How do you think our network helps you achieve your goals as an affiliate?
I appreciate Avangate Affiliate Network for the wide variety of products available to pick from, some well-known, others not that much. But they all create opportunities if you can find the right customers.
7. Any advice for affiliate newcomers who are promoting software and digital goods?
Don't treat affiliate marketing as a passive income source, you need to find customers and sell to their needs. If you're passive, you blend into the noise of useless salespeople annoying customers. Find customers who actually need a product.
